Sunday Drive by bigshotdan Sunday Drive by bigshotdan
Seeing a new deviation from ~duolux-kristof prompted me to upload this one. We're heading back to May now, at Queensland Raceway's round of the Australian GT Championship.

Something a little different this time; a portrait of a supercar. QR ain't the most picturesque place on earth, but sometimes, just sometimes, you can make it look okay. I think this is one of those occasions...

Hehe... It wasn't a bad day. Pity about the drive itself. At least the car's nice...

I really liked how you captured the moment here. Very beautiful perspective and it really captures the intent of the Lamborghini Gallardo on the track.

Thank you very much. I'm always looking for that different angle when shooting cars and this is one of my best in that regard. Glad you like it. :thanks:

great work bro, I love the isolation of the car from the rest of the shot, very nice indeed

this one is excellent, but I would like to see the full colored version too... I personnaly find a bit extreme the color/sepia combination... even if it's nice and very well done!! don't take it bad... but just seen like this, the car is very clear, white, and I was just wondering how it was nature...

I'm glad you did too! On revisiting the shots from that event I realised there were a few really good ones. This, I think, has now become my new favourite shot - of any subject...

It reminds me of a shot I took at Rally Tas.
APS camera shot, vertical of an Escort with a massive tree in the background, unfortunately its on film and I don't have a scanner.
Keep it up bro

Dan this is awesome.

I always try and add a little ';photography' into my bike shots, to achieve something a little different and that has 'art' in it (well, my interpretation there of).

What I like about your work is that you clearly do too.

Fantastic example of what I mean.

It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned, and I know we're on the same wavelength there...

Remarkable picture with those trees and the way the barrier seems perpendicular.

May i ask how you achieve the sepia effect with the subject still in colour?

Thanks! The effect is gained through some Photoshop editing. Desaturate all around the car, which was fairly easy in this case, and then all I did was add a yellow 'variation'. Simple, really!

it looks really nice.

I understand what you mean. Here the only race track isn`t that nice with photos (main reason for full 500mm shots to hide the surroundings :P )

I really like the idea and the quality and composition is just perfect!

Thanks so much, Jorge. Yeah, this isn't a nice track photographically. A 500mm lens wouldn't go astray either, I can tell you!
