Yeah, I agree. I was going to say it is like the Circuit de La Sarthe of the United States, but that may be a bit of an overstatement. It's more like the Spa-Francorchamps of the U.S.
That's probably not an unjust assessment. Could also throw Donington into the mix, purely for the mix of fast and slow together with massive elevation change. Road America's far more scenic though with all its greenery. For a local comparison, I can only think of Phillip Island or Bathurst, and the latter is a 'normal' road, even if racing was high on its agenda from the word go...
true, but there were some races where weather wasn't a factor either, like Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock, and Utah. i never thought i'd see audi not win overall, until this season
If you listen to what the team says, it's down to the restrictions they've been slugged. Also, Road America is a faster track than the others and, until the rain came, they were streets ahead of the competition...
