Gold Coast Indy. One of the Target/Ganassi cars heads towards the final complex before shooting down the main straight in qualifying for the 2001 event.
Indy rocks hard. Managed to snag myself a Johnny Rutherford autograph a couple of years back. And had my picture taken with Jacques Lazier (he used to race FV's back in the day....once I told him I was an FV crew chief, he was happy to take a shot with me ).
This is a really awesome shot. Nice work, Dan. Cheers.
Thanks! I was just flicking through old photos (this would have been 2001) and thought it had potential. With a lot of cropping, it now passes as a half-decent image...
That is really tight! I love how you captured the car right at the separation of the white and red of the walls! Almost like the car is altering the color as it drives by!
hehe, the way the photo looks, with the honda signs starting where the car is...it looks like the car is sweeping them off the sides as it goes by...yeah i have a pretty active imagination...where the heck did you shoot this from? it looks like you're standing on the track! that's fantastic!
Actually shot from behind the fence, the one thing I despise about street circuits. Then again, they have to be there or people would die far more often...
As for your imagination, it certainly is vivid. But now that I look at it again I can see exactly what you mean...
