Slight 'delayed reaction' if you will... I present the 2008 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island on the first weekend of October.

This event represented the second time this year - and also the second ever - I'd been trackside to witness something other than racing of the four-wheeled variety. I still prefer my cars, but the racing was enthralling nonetheless...

This is Julian Simon, Repsol KTM works rider who sadly didn't make the podium at all this year and finished 10th overall..

Nice capture and colours, that orange seems to glow even more on overcast days for some reason.

Thanks very much, Ian. Yes, the Repsol colours work a treat photographically. I possibly wouldn't like this shot if not for the contrast that paintjob creates...

I love the color. The bike just blasts out of the natural dullness from behind it. That helmet design also looks pretty rad as well.

Thanks very much. Yeah, the colour contrast is what made me opt to show this one. I was half considering doing selective colouring but it isn't even worth the effort...

I think you may be right there, Jorge. I have a feeling this is on the run down into the hairpin towards the end of the lap, so they'd certainly be hard on the brakes...

Thanks Doug! Yeah, tiny exhaust. To be fair, though, I think this is from the 125s or 250s. The MotoGP bikes are somewhat larger...
