A little 'trip interlude' here. I still have countless thousands of images to go through from my month abroad but yesterday took me to Eastern Creek for day one action of the Muscle Car Masters.

Here's a step back in time to, in my opinion, the best tin top action; the Group A days. Two of the main protagonists of that era, the Nissan Skyline R31 and the Holden VL Commodore, featured here in near-original liveries. Don't they look a million bucks, even some 17 years down the track...?

That'd be because it's rare to see anything other than V8s! And it's for that reason I sorely miss the Group A days. So many manufacturers, different classes competing... it's so dull now by comparison...

Yes indeed. Who could forget him flinging the old VL around in the wet in '87? Truly incredible car control (mind you, Seto did a pretty good job in the Skyline earlier in the race)...
